Along with some Windows Mobile 6.5 hotness, we now have news that the upcoming Acer F1 smartphone will be powered by the blazing fast Qualcomm Snapdragon CPU.  But unlike the Toshiba TG01 which tops out at 1GHz, the F1 will be limited to a 800 MHz, which although low by computer standards, should be enough horsepower to run a cell phone without a hitch.  As we said already, the handset will be running Windows Mobile 6.5 with Acer’s homebrewn Acer Suite 2.0 UI akin to HTC’s TouchFLO 3D and the same could hold true for the Acer E1 and L1, which will also purportedly run WM6.5. It looks like those Android phones from Acer are happening. The A1 touchscreen Android phone is going to arrive in September according to the Phillipine BusinessMirror. Unfortunately the specs still remain a mystery and we have no details about prices but they should all arrive in due time. Besides the A1 three other Acer handsets are going to be launched but we have no hot details about any of them either.

Acer is getting ready to launch two of its latest smartphones. According to Vincent Chen, the manager of product marketing at Acer’s Smart Handheld busines, the DX900 is going to be available by the end of the month while the X960 is coming early next month.

The DX900 will get you a 2.8-inch VGA touchscreen, dual SIM slots, quad-band GSM and tri-band UMTS/HSDPA, a 3.2 megapixel autofocus camera, GPS, WiFi, Bluetooth 2.0 and Windows Mobile 6.1. The X960 is almost similar but it lacks that dual SIM capability. Are they really going to be cheap?

Acer today announced four new touch phones powered by Windows Mobile Professional; the M900, F900, DX900 and X960. The new handset all have similar features, which, include quad-band GSM/EDGE and tri-band HSDPA, GPS, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and microSDHC support. They handset also feature a custom widget UI on top of Windows Mobile.
