The thing with rumors and hidden sources is that you can never know exactly who’s telling the truth. Yesterday we heard that the Palm Eos will be released by AT&T. Today we hear the Sprint will have it too in the third quarter of the year. Sources within Sprint have confirmed such a device and the said handset is in testing as we speak. Maybe by tomorrow T-Mobile will also have a version of the Eos scheduled for release this fall. will the Pre arrive from any other carriers? We’ll keep you updated!

And on a different not the Eos could very well wear one of the following names: Mini Pre, Pixie or Castle.

May 11 is the day when Verizon Wireless will launch a new Samsung phone, the SCH-U750 or the Alias 2. Or so do people say thus far. The phone is similar in design to its predecessor, the U740. The Alias also has a dual-hinged mechanism but the QWERTY keyboard is replaced with a dynamic keyboard. How does it work? Well, when you open the phone in portrait clam shell mode, you will have a standard numeric keypad available. When you open it in landscape mode and a QWERTY keyboard comes to life. Other specs incluyde a 2.6-inch QVGA internal display, 2.0 megapixel camera, voice commands, dedicated hot key for one-touch Bluetooth access and various Verizon customizations.

The Alias 2 doesn’t have a price just yet but we expect it to cost anywhere from $200 to $250 before rebates. Of course, you will be paying a lot less since you’re going to get it with a new 2-year contract.

The Maverix HUD Sunglasses Joke

The Maverix HUD Sunglasses Joke

If the first day of the month of April makes it quite alright for practical jokers to do their thing, then everyone is considered free game, even gadget lovers. It is no surprising therefore that a certain gadget comes out online right on this day that a lot of people were made to believe was the real deal. Actually there were a lot of other gadgets involved. One of them just happens to be the so-called Maverix HUD Sunglasses.

This Maverix HUD eyewear is purported to be anything but the ordinary ones you see in stores. The Maverix HUD is said to be a perfect match to your handy smart phone or PDA. What it does is display what you see on your smart phone or PDA screen right into the sunglass lenses for viewing. This means that you will be able to check out your iPhone, Blackberry or PDA even if you still have it in your bag or pocket. The Maverix HUD (which stands for Heads Up Display, by the way) connects with your device via Bluetooth so you won’t have to bother with wires and such.

The Maverix HUD Sunglasses truly makes quite an interesting gadget to have. It’s just too sad that it has to be a product of April 1. The thing is, the Maverix HUD was part of a joke. It was made by the people at I Want One Of Those as an April Fools joke. Upon seeing the impressive sunglasses on their catalog and then pressing the “Buy” button, it will tell you that it’s April Fools Day and you’ve been had. And sadly enough, the Maverix HUD sunglasses has been taken off the website catalog not long after that. Now people have to wait until next year for the next surprise. Here is a page where you might be able to find all the other recent online April Fools jokes for some laughs.

samsung-blu-ray-bd-p3600

The Samsung BD-P3600 is a standalone Blu-ray player that offers, very fast loading times as well as exquisite high definition picture quality typical of the current Blu-ray video format. The Samsung Blu-ray is designed in the usual rectangular player deck but with a unique touch.

Yes, it comes in the glossy black color that most players like it comes in. But it comes unlike the boxy players you might be accustomed to. The Samsung BD-P3600 has rounded edges and corners that make it look quite better and unlike any other standard Blu-ray players. Its features may also be quite attractive as it offers support for both the older HDTV connections as well as support for the newer HDMI connection. It is also backwards compatible with CD and DVD formats. Read the rest of this entry »
