Novatel intros Ovation MC935D USB data modem

Novatel Wireless on Tuesday announced it will soon release the Ovation MC935D USB modem that uses HSPA mobile broadband networks for Internet and data access. The MC935D is designed for European networks with its single-band 2,100MHz support, allowing for peak download speeds of 7.2Mbps and upload speeds of 5.76Mbps. EDGE/GPRS networks are also supported for global data access. The MC935D is only 0.4 inches thick for ease of portability, and is plug-and-play ready thanks to the pre-loaded Mobilink 2 Connection Manager software. Novatel’s own NovaSpeed broadband accelerator is also preinstalled on the device, boosting performance when sending and receiving data at the same time.
The Ovation MC935D will be available in the second quarter of 2009, though no prices have been announced.
