Sling Media had just announced on their website that they have submitted their iPhone app – SlingPlayer Mobile to the App Store for approval.
SlingPlayer Mobile for the iPhone is probably one of the most eagerly awaited iPhone apps by those who own a Slingbox.
Slingbox produced by Sling Media is a TV streaming device which allows you to watch and control your favorite TV source such as DVR, digital cable, satellite receiver, or DVD player from anywhere in the world on your laptop or on a cell phone using SlingPlayer mobile.
Sling Media had given a brief demo of their pre-alpha proof-of-concept version of their iPhone app back in June 2008 on a jailbroken iPhone.
During Macworld 2009 in January they had reported that their iPhone app was almost ready, and they plan to submit it to the App Store in the first quarter. They have delivered on their promise by submitting SlingPlayer Mobile to the App Store.They have put up the following message on their website:
It looks quite impressive. We can’t wait to get our hands on the iPhone app when it is released.
We will let you know as soon as SlingPlayer Mobile is available on the App Store.
