Nokia’s trying to make a big deal today about the fact that the N86 8MP will be coming to Nokia’s US flagship stores in New York and Chicago along with nokiausa.com in the “coming weeks,” but in light of the company’s recent North American strategy shift, the US availability of the N85, and the handling of the N97 launch, we’d be far more surprised if it wasn’t coming. As for pricing, you’re going to be looking at $558 out the door — an oddball price, to be sure, but considering that you’re getting arguably the best S60 3.2 device ever conceived, it seems within the realm of reason (and you’ll be able to get it through third-party retailers for considerably less, we’d wager). Who’s in?

However, we’ve been pretty excited about this handset ever since the 6700 classic was announced, largely because it has a feature set that blows the competition out of the water.

The Nokia 6700 classic manages to pack in one hell of a lot of features for a slim candybar phone that weighs just 116g. You’ll find this Symbian S40 phone comes with a full aluminium jacket and a sharp 2.2-inch that supports 16.7 millions colours.

Then there is the fact is comes with A-GPS built-in, along with a whoppin 5-Megapixel camera that is bound to impress. The Symbian S60-based smartphone is aimed squarely at social media freaks, boasting a full QWERTY keyboard, a browser with Flash support ( imagine that, right?), a pre-installed JuiceCaster app for easily updating your Facebook / Twitter status and a price tag that’s sure to turn heads.

For just $79.99 after rebate, you’ll also get a 2 megapixel camera, AT&T Navigator, AT&T Video Share and the pleasure of handing over at least $30 per month for a required data plan (if you want the $50 rebate, anyway). If you’re sold already, you can get yours on July 19th.

After 3GS iPhone, Nokia N97, mobile market is still waiting for another series like Sony Ericsson Satio, HD Samsung Omnia, Nokia E72.

Sony Ericsson Satio was worth waiting in year 2008. It is the first touchphone of Japan – Sweden manufacturer, runs on S60 OS version 5. Products expected to be presented in October.

It is not “iPhone killer” as we expected, but Nokia N97 is a competitor against to Apple, at least its remarkable feature than iPhone

Nokia E72 with upgrades from E71

This new mobile, Nokia also bring to the processor faster. Accordingly, new mobile speed up to 600 MHz, while the E71 is only with 369 MHz.

Both are not the phones with typical memory. However, better storage on E72 when support internal memory of 250 MB and 128 MB RAM, E71 previously have equivalent RAM, but memory only 110 MB. Memory card slot of E71 supports expanded maximum 8 GB, up to E72 is 16 GB.

Also with new mobile, Nokia has 5 megapixel camera, support automatically get sharpness and LED lights. Last E71 supports only 3.2 Megapixel.

Some real tests initially showed that the speed of the E72 faster (because of the powerful processor). E72 is also equipped with a new e-mail browser, with a convenient installation, allowing to add many more addresses at once, and labeled for e-mail by name.

Cincinnati Bell to Sell the Nokia XpressMusic 5800 for $149.99

You were not expecting this, but Cincinnati Bell is the first carrier in the USA to offer the Nokia XpressMusic 5800 for a subsidized price. Its customers in the Ohio region will get to choose from the $149.99 with a contract version and the $349.99 without a contract version. The contract-less version is $50 cheaper than Nokia’s current price so people might still be interested in Cincinnati Bell’s offer even without a contract. Anyone else interested in bringing the 5800 to the American public?

Nokia N86’s kickstand is alive

While the N96’s kickstand was just a bit of plastic to prop the handset up when displaying pictures or videos, the N86’s kickstand’s is in a different league altogether. The stand can be assigned to open up any application installed on the N86 when it is kicked out. So if you want a video player to launch every time you pop up the kickstand, you can do just that. Now, how cool is that? Just goes to show that it’s innovation like this that puts Nokia right above other manufacturers.

Firmware Update For Nokia 5800 XpressMusic

Just about a month ago, there have been complaints about the first batch of Nokia 5800 NAM phones experiencing signal problems that led them to be yanked out of the company’s flagship stores in the country. This was quite unfortunate since it was just several days after the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic phone was officially launched.

The first solution was then to get back all the phones affected by the signal problem and exchange them with problem free versions. But now, this would no longer be the case as a firmware update has been made available by the people at Nokia. The said problem on the initial Nokia 5800 phones affected how they receive 3G signals. Many of the early Nokia 5800 buyers experienced problems getting quality 3G reception. Although this would have only required a configuration setting fix, Nokia has since released an updated firmware to fix the bugs.

Firmware Ver. 20.2.014 was made available and has effectively fixed the bug issues that plagued the initial Nokia 5800 phones. With the phones now bug free, they have again been made available on stores for interested users to check out.

There’s no official N98 touchscreen handset coming from Nokia anytime soon but that doesn’t mean you can’t get a Nokla N98. That’s right, someone cloned a concept that didn’t have any success with Nokia yet. The clone phone will offer a 3-inch QVGA screen and dual-SIM support but there’s no 3G and not even EDGE support. You should also expect no great warranty and absolutely no customer support but I am just speculating here. Maybe Nokla have cloned that too. Nevertheless, in case you will get the phone, let us know how it works. It has a bargain price of only $78 which is still too much for a clone device.

Nokia N97 to Offer You a Weak CPU?

The N97 looks great and until today I bet that lots of people were getting their budgets approved in order to get it. But today is a sad day for all those of us that fell in love with Nokia’s new flagship phone. The handset seems ready to disappoint us with a weak ARM 11 processor running at only 434MHz. That’s only 65MHz more than the 5800 XpressMusic and surely not enough for our mobile needs. The N97 comes with an impressive price tag so we were expecting a much better processor. Let’s not forget that the Pre clocks at around 600MHz or that the BlackBerry Bold launched last year has a 624MHz processor. I won’t even mention the TG01 which will be dazzling us with a 1GHz processor. Whoops, I just did! So let us hear the defendant speak! Nokia?

Folks over at HardwareZone were able to get their lucky hands on Nokia’s yet-to-be released flagship handset, the Nokia N97. We know we have been giving you a lot of videos and no information on when it will actually land in our laps, but don’t blame us as Nokia seems mum on that particular subject. Still, with all the information pointing to a first half release, including Vodafone’s July release date, we could rest assured that it will start selling some time in the next two months. Nokia Launched the 6216 Classic NFC Phone

Nokia has a new phone, the 6216 classic NFC phone. It’s the third phone that uses that NFC or Near Field Communications technology but it’s also the first one that will allow carriers to build NFC services straight into your SIM card. NFC technology will let devices transfer data between them by simply tapping them together. By data we mean image files, video files, contacts, music and everything else you can imagine.

Nokia’s head of NFC, Jeremy Belostock, had this to say about the phone:

The Nokia 6216 classic will be amongst the first commercial devices in the market complying with operator requirements using the SIM card in connection to secure transactions with Near Field Communications. With the Nokia 6216 classic in your pocket and the ticketing applications on the SIM you can replace the multitude of cards in your wallet. Having the applications on the SIM consumers can bring their secure applications to their next Nokia NFC enabled phone.

The phone itself will offer you quad-band GSM, dual-band 3G, a 2-inch QVGA display, a 2 megapixel camera, microSDHC support, Bluetooth and about 22MB of memory. The phone will be available later this year for around $195. Would you swap your smartphone with an NFC phone like the 6216?

Nokia XpressMusic 5800: 13 million sold and going strong

Having sold over a million units in the first month of its release, Nokia’s first touchscreen device, the XpressMusic 5800 has now crossed the 13 million mark in just two months after the Finnish giant unleashed it worldwide. While this isn’t that close to the 17 million iPhones and iPhone 3Gs sold (in 16 months), it isn’t that far either and Nokia has a lot of time to catch up to that kind of figures. The news was revealed by Rob Taylor, head of Forum Nokia for the Americas, at CTIA Wireless 2009 recently. Now, we don’t really want to get down to iPhone-bashing, but Apple better have something really good planned for this year if it wants to claim back the touchphone throne that is slowly slipping from underneath it.

Verizon Wireless to Launch New Swivel Nokia?

A new Nokia phone is heading to Verizon Wireless but details about it are very limited right now. According to secret sources the new handset has a swivel mechanism and resembles the E71, which is one of the best phones Nokia launched last year. Will the swivel version be just as good or way better?

Verizon is supposed to launch it this summer, sometime in July or August so we’re waiting for all the hot specs by then. What we do know is that this QWERTY Nokia phone will be running Symbian S40 and not S60. What do you think?

Nokia to dive head first into touchscreen market

It seems that Nokia has finally taken a hint from the market; touchscreens are good. Word comes to us that Nokia is prepping to launch 3 touchscreens enabled devices at some point this year to join the likes of their N97 coming this summer. One of these rumored phones is said to have the codename ‘Nautilus‘ which features both a touchscreen and full QWERTY keyboard.

Rumor has it these new touch screen devices will utilize haptic feedback technology licensed from Immersion in an attempt to make typing on the phones less of a chore.

Nokia is still far ahead in terms of worldwide sales but companies like Apple and RIM are hot on their tail, so it’s about time they picked up the pace.

Nokia 5030 XpressRadio Phone

The Nokia 5030 XpressRadio phone is one of the recent releases of the popular mobile phone manufacturer. It is the first Nokia mobile phone that has its own internal FM antenna. Along with its built-in speakers, this feature allows the use of the phone’s FM radio function without requiring the use of the headsets or external speakers.

The Nokia 5030 also features a one touch FM radio and channel selection function, allowing users to access their favorite sources of FM music and entertainment source faster. Hands-on with Nokia’s 2009 smartphones

Nokia had only the E71x to introduce at this year’s CTIA, but the company’s booth on the show floor is also the first opportunity for many in the US to see phones that have until now only been on view in Europe. We tried the N86 8MP and found that it’s ultimately a pedestrian phone in most respects; its design recalls the N85 with the exception of the obvious swap of dedicated camera controls on the slider. However, what we could see showed a phone that lived up to its hardware claims, with a fairly bright and rich OLED as well as a high-resolution camera. Photo quality is unsurprisingly difficult to test without a larger screen and freedom of movement, but previews were promising. We also tried the Finnish phone developer’s two new business phones, the E55 and E75. There’s little to say about the E55 as its only real change is a SureType keypad with two letters on each key; the feature is convenient if a user is a fan of the BlackBerry Pearl’s layout and a nuisance if not. However, the E75 arguably makes a good phone (the E71) better. The slide-out QWERTY keyboard is decidedly more comfortable and easier to punch quickly than the E71’s usable-but-narrow fixed design. There’s also an improved e-mail interface that may tackle one of the E71’s greater flaws, though without the true freedom to test the e-mail client this was difficult to gauge. Perhaps the most useful improvement beyond the input itself is the ability to view content in either portrait or landscape views thanks to the keyboard’s presence.The E71x in question isn’t particularly unique by itself. It is, effectively, a cosmetic variant of the stock version with AT&T-specific software that may or may not matter to those who want carrier-backed GPS subscriptions or similar features. We found the original comfortable but partially hampered by software design choices. All the same, the device will often be a better alternative to the unlocked version and some other phones simply due to price: at $100 on a two-year plan, the E71x is less than half the $359 price of the unrestricted version.

Combining two entirely different ideas of paper mail and e-ink technology, Fabien Nauroy has managed to create one of the best concept phones we have seen in some time, the Nokia E97. Dark sleek looks aside, the Nokia E97 has a unique pullout LCD screen, which can be removed from the handsetjust as you pull a paper from an envelope, and can double as a storage device or a desktop picture frame. The handset goes for an ‘AZERTY’ keypad shunning your usual QWERTY, along with a smaller LCD screen right above it. The whole package seems cool as ice but as for now, as intangible as any other concept phones we have come to see until now.
