Advantages: Lowest price phone available, Long battery, Torch?!?!
Disadvantages: Low on features, Expensive for what it is, This type of phone is dated![]()
Yes probably the most popular phone of all time, long befoe the advent of WAP, Camera Phones, Bluetooth, Color Screens, poly tones etc.
Well in 2004, Nokia brought us the 1100. All it is a slimmed down Nokia 3210, that phone is over 5 years old. Why on earth would we want to part with £40 for a phone we all had years ago?
Monotone screen, beepy ringtones, Snake game you know the drill, pretty much nothing to endear the phone to you.
Now there are simple phones and then there is 1100. Its so basic its unbelievable. You would expect at the least a colour screen but not with this phone. A simple to use phone does not have to be based on software that is 5 years old.
Even the price is high coming at around £40 and offering very little indeed in the way of features.
The one change it does offer an its a slightly odd one is that it doubles up as a torch. While it a really bright light too i just find the combination of phone and torch as weird. Although i can see the convenience of it.
The battery last for ever however which is a plus point for people who spend time on the move or perhaps camping where charging is not really an option.
SUMMARY
All in all i think the phone is just too basic, Nokia should be aiming slightly higher with their base model I bel;ieve. Colour screen has to be a minimum and i cant help to be dissapointed by the absence of WAP capability. A poor phone and i think youd be more sensible spend a little more to buy a Nokia 3100.
Avoid like the plague unless you really do want a basic phone
