We’re pretty sure the BlackBerry Storm 2’s announcement is coming soon, and we just got a little more evidence: The not-so-loved original Storm’s price has just been dropped to $99 with a 2-year contract.
If you’re sure you need to stick with Verizon, this probably looks enticing, but we’d definitely recommend waiting. The Storm 2 will probably cost in the $150-250 range to compete with the iPhone, Pre, and various Android offerings, and for all we know, it might be great. Even the BlackBerry Tour might be a better option that the original Storm, which isn’t the worst phone ever but hasn’t exactly been a fan favorite either. [Verizon]

As much as everyone loooves the iphone, I am still on the verizon plan and love my blackberry! I am super excited the storm came down in price. I not sure how it truly compares, but with all the benefits blackberry does have, I really hope it compares well- something needs to compete with the iphone before it takes over the world!
I think the storm has sufferd a little from all the iPhone hype. It’s not that’s it’s bad, just a little lagging behind the time. This seems a pretty good deal but I’d be a little worried about being tied in for two years when there’s some great phones on the way.
have added u bro, check it plz n buzz me, thanks n have a nice day i’ll wait

Agreed Bobi, im an iPhone man myself but there does need to be competition in order for a fair market place and to keep the prices down and Blackberry and RIM are probably the company who can best challenge Apple
Wow! 99 bucks is a bargain for this kind of phone
I think this should be sub-regional context, such as the Russian people like Apple, but South America, most people like the BlackBerry.
