Apple and AT&T will keep getting sued over and over for that 3G service. No matter how hot or not the iPhone is, as long as the two companies keep emphasizing its capabilities and especially data speeds there are always going to be some unhappy customers. Like Damone Dickerson from New Jersey who has filed a lawsuit in the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey. He says he hasn’t been able to connect to the 3G network more than a “fraction of the time”. Whenever he has connected to it it did not provide “full and continual service.” Will he make AT&T and Apple change their advertising messages? Will he “recover compensatory, statutory and punitive damages?” Apple and AT&T failed to comment so far but we’ll keep you updated.

AT&T has confirmed to the Associated Press that it will begin contract-free iPhone 3G sales beginning next week at the same $599/$699 pricepoint as the first-generation model.

The above actions follow through on preliminary statements made during the iPhone 3G launch last July that the carrier would offer the 3G at the same contract-free terms as the first-genation model, right down to remaining locked to AT&T. Read the rest of this entry »

Looking for a new phone? AT&T is getting ready to launch quite a few of them and we’re ready to take look at them.

Nokia Piranha will be launched on March 24th. It’s a “thin smartphone with a touchscreen” so it’s either the 5800 XpressMusic but it could also be the E71x without the touchscreen thing.

The Samsung Propel Pro will arrive on March 19 while the Impression, a touchscreen slider, 3 megapixel camera will come on March 26. The last of the future AT&T Samsung handsets is the BJ 2 and it will arrive on May 9.

AT&T will launch the LG Xenon on April 9 and the Neon of May 9. June 9 will see one more handset coming, the C905 from Sony Ericsson. And you know what other phone is coming on June right?

It seems that AT&T’s employees won’t go to strike for now. AT&T and the Communications Workers of America have reached a tentative agreement for the 20,000 unionized workers that have been in contract negotiations. The agreement has to be submitted for approval by a ratification vote from the CWA group members before we can assure you that there’s not going to be a strike soon. We’ll keep tabs on this one as I imagine an AT&T strike is not exactly going to make your day.
