Sprint will not only launch the Pre this year. Other phone worth mentioning are also going to be available from this carrier. One such example is the HTC Snap. It looks like Sprint will baptize it the HTC Snap S511 and it will launch it this summer. There’s no official release date available just yet but it’s being said that Sprint is testing the device already. We’ll have to wait for an official version and maybe for some prices too before we all get too excited for this QWERTY HTC phone.

Sprint Starts Palm Pre Training

In what many call as a sign of things to come, Sprint employees have reportedly started training on the Palm Pre, a development many foresee as the imminent release of the highly anticipated mobile device.

The Palm Pre is rumored to be released somewhere between April and May and if this factor is to be considered for the developmental stages of the Palm Pre then perhaps we may see the launch of this phone.

All the rumors and speculations of a mid-April/late April/May launch of the Palm Pre doesn’t appear to be too far of a stretch. Stated in an email from Sprint, “Employees can expect training to start in April as well as multiple communications to get them excited and ready to help our customers.” I was wondering if the training has begun — so I asked for a confirmation on that thought.

“I would like to inform that Sprint is in the process of providing the training for the new Palm Pre. Once it’s launched, Sprint will be ready to serve their valued customers regarding the Palm Pre.”

The fact that Sprint employees are already training up on the Palm Pre, pretty much implies that the release date of the Pre should be near. On top of that, early this week, Sprint began getting the word out about the Pre with their new marketing campaign.

Sprint has announced the Sanyo SCP-2700. The phone, which we previously reported, will launch May 10.

The device is clearly built in the image of the Palm Centro and Treo 800w family of devices. The phone is a 1xRTT-only phone, aimed at an audience that wants basic text and picture messaging functionality. It will mirror the feature set of the LG Rumor2, including a microSDHC card slot with MP3 functionality.

Samsung’s New Instinct For Sprint

Interestingly, Samsung Korea unveiled the new Instinct S30 or Instinct Mini with a Sprint Logo. Instinct S30 / Instinct Mini / Sprint M810 (whatever you may call it) is a graceful model and is much better than its predecessors. The company has been successful in resolving many software issues found in the earlier Instinct models. The Samsung Korea’s official site is still quite on its specifications. Following my ‘Instincts’, I feel Sprint and Samsung USA will roll out this model any moment from now.

Look whose back! It’s LG Lotus, now in red. Sprint just released the spec sheet of the Lotus Clamshell. The new model features a stylized cover which adds to its beauty. This is the third color of the model, after the purple and the matte black versions. The specs are similar to the previous releases however the cover is an addition. As per rumors Sprint will bring the phone to the general public by mid-April with price tags similar to the current versions. The phone will serve the seekers of new style, others might consider sticking to the earlier versions.

Sprint seems ready to take its WiMAX network to the next level. If you want fast mobile broadband you should either move to Baltimore where the service is active or wait for 2009 and to 2010 for WiMAX to arrive in your city. This year Atlanta, Charlotte, Chicago, Dallas, Ft. Worth, Honolulu, Las Vegas, Philadelphia, Portland and Seattle will get the 4G upgrade while next year Boston, Houston, New York, San Francisco and Washington D.C. will receive the WiMAX. And according to Sprint “several new 4G devices planned for 2009 and 2010, including a single-mode 4G data card, embedded laptops, a small-office-home-office broadband modem and a tri-mode phone.”
