Pantech announced today a WiFi enabled phone, the WPP-8000. The phone will use LG Dacom’s myLG070 service which will allow users access to the Web via a wireless LAN connection, the iHub, without charging them for the data used. The phone will support features like Caller ID and SMS text messaging which isn’t that impressive. The handset is certainly a first and could get some improvements. If the WPP-8000 will be successful then we should expect Pantech to release similar devices soon.
