TEAC unveils a great HD radio in the TEACH HD-1. This tabletop iPod docking system, equipped with HD Radio technology, delivers a superior audio experience and compelling new content via HD Radio programming. The TEAC HD-1 also features iTunes Tagging capability and is available at select Costco stores nationwide.
HD Radio technology enables the TEAC HD-1 to offer new FM channels, crystal-clear digital sound and on-screen artist/title information – all free. Across the country there are nearly 2,000 HD Radio stations currently on the air, plus more than 1,000 new FM HD2/HD3 channels. And, using iTunes Tagging, an innovative HD Radio feature, consumers can “tag,” songs they hear on FM HD Radio stations by simply pressing a button on the radio.
Once connected to an iPod or iPhone, the HD-1 will automatically upload the song information. The next time the iPod is synced to iTunes, the tagged songs will automatically appear as a “Tagged playlist” of selected songs that can be previewed, purchased and downloaded.
The TEAC HD-1, with an MSRP of $129.99, plays and charges iPhones and all iPods, including the iPod touch. It is equipped with a remote control, dual alarm clock with a snooze button and five equalizer presets for improved audio fidelity. The HD-1 also comes with a headphone jack and video and audio outputs. The device’s rear-firing ports deliver a rich bass response, allowing for superior sound.
