Forget headphones and earphones. How about some nice shoulderphones? That’s what a Korean company seems to be marketing with a product called Soundwalk, an unsightly contraption that’s supposed to be hung on your shoulders to omit the need of headphones, thereby preventing any accidents that might occur if you are jogging to the tunes on your iPod oblivious to the outside world. The Soundwalk speaker vest is powered by two AAA batteries and has two speakers tucked into the shoulder pads, an ideal place because of the proximity to the ears providing best quality sound, while leaving the user aware of his/her surroundings. Also present is a front pocket to house your favorite mp3 player, connecting directly to the shoulder speakers.
The Soundwalk speaker vest is now available in Europe and on some online sites at £39.99 (approx. $55), but beware of the severe drop in style points that you might experience once you take the plunge.

We have an AT&T rumor for you today which you’ll probably like, particularly if you own one of those recently cancelledQuickfire handsets. AT&T is considering a Phone Trade-In program which should be available in June. With such a program you will be able to trade in your unwanted handset and AT&T might be able to resell it to someone who actually wants it. That’s just speculation for now as we don’t have any official terms and conditions yet. But here’s what you should expect:
- The phone being traded in in can’t be more than two years old and must be in fair shape
- The new phone will not have any subsidies applied to it, so basically whatever your trade-in covers will be your “savings”
- Trade-ins will be valued from $50 to $200
So how would you take advantage of such a program?

Alaska Airlines has just joined the in flight WiFi club. The airline will offer WiFi on a trial period on flights between San Jose and Seattle and for 60 days you’ll be able to enjoy it for free. If everything goes well, you will see the service expand to more Alaska Airlines flights soon.
You will be able to browse the Inflight splash page, check you email, IM with your friends and listen to online music. There’s no price for it just now but it should be similar to what the competition has to offer when the service will end the trial period.

I don’t know about you guys but I’ve never really been fond of Bluetooth headsets. However, if I were to get a Bluetooth headset, the Jawbone Bluetooth Headset may very well be it.
Amazon.com has recently put the headset in their Goldbox which means amazing savings. The MSRP of the Jawbone is $149.99 but Amazon has it up for $89.99. That’s a full $60 off! Hell, it even has free shipping.
If you are one who wants to look fashionable with their Bluetooth headset while still retaining it’s usability, you might as well check out the gold Jawbone Bluetooth Headset while it’s cheap.

Now here is good news for all the eco-friendly people out there and all those who keep forgetting to buy batteries for your alarm clock. This small little alarm clock works on water! There are no batteries, no wires no trickery behind it! You just have to make sure that it’s got enough water. The electrochemical reaction of those pretty electrodes in the water will take care of the rest for you.The water-powered alarm clock cost only around $30 if you’re interested in it.
I know what you’re thinking, could we see our phones powered by water in the near future? We’d certainly love to see such a handset concept.

Amazon, you should get ready for some heavy competition. The Kindle 2 has just begun shipping and while the device is still in stock, those keen on buying one might want to hold on to their money for a little while longer. It looks like the Hearst Corporation, which publishes Cosmopolitan, Esquire and the San Francisco Chronicle, wants to release its own wireless e-reader. So will we have a Kindle look-alike or are we going to get a totally new device?
Well it looks like Hearst wants something different, in an effort to “preserve the business model that has sustained newspapers and magazines.” Heart’s e-reader should be as big as a standard sheet of paper which will offer both publishers and advertisers enough space to do their thing. The device will come in a monochrome version first but a color version should arrive later. We’ll keep you updated as these device might change for ever the way we read our regular magazines and newspapers.
