In case you purchased a Quickfire handset from AT&T, make sure you call them and ask what’s wrong with it. It must be something wrong with it otherwise AT&T wouldn’t have issued a notice to all managers to stop selling Quickfires. Even the demo handsets have been removed from the floors which means there are some problems with it. You might consider returning your unit and have it replaced with something else.

The Kogan Agora hasn’t been launched yet, but it seems that the folks behind it are working hard to make it happen. The phone is not ready to be commercialized just yet and it seems that Kogan is considering that full QWERTY keyboard with a touchscreen. That’s going to be a large, 3.8-inch screen ready to welcome your fingers. There’s still no official release date of the Agora but we’re going to keep you posted on its development.

Motorola seems eager to launch more successors to some of its cell phone lines. The one in the picture above is said to be a new ROKR that has just been leaked over. It’s not the E10 Texel but it looks like it. So it could be an E11 or E12 version of it.
The phone seems to be a touchscreen handset and it has a 3.2 megapixel camera. We don’t have any features yet and there’s no official Motorola announcement available either. Are you interested in a new ROKR?

Motorola has decided to announce a new Razr phone, covered in gold. We’re looking for Moto to launch hot new phones and maybe it’s time the company decided to quit launching new Razr handsets. This one will not impress you with its specs but with that 18K white gold and with that gold plated keypad. Besides all that gold that you’ll have features like 3G, Bluetooth and USB 2.0 connectivity, better speakers and support for video calls and multimedia playback. The phone should arrive from SK Telecom in Korea but you’d have to check with your local carriers to see if Motorola will bring it to other markets too. And while you’re at it, ask for pricing details too!

Samsung has a new phone ready to be launched and it looks like Russia is the market it will head to. The Samsung S5600 is the handset we’re talking about, but we don’t have any of its specs yet. The phone will come in a plastic case and it will use that TouchWiz UI from Samsung. We don’t know when the S5600 will arrive and how much it will cost, but we expect it to have a fairly cheap price as it is probably going to be a mid-level handset.

Cowon has announced the launch of D2+, a successor to to its popular portable media player, the D2. So, what’s new in this iteration. As far as we can see, not much. The D2+ seems to have retained the same 2.5-inch 16-million-color touchscreen display, the same support for SD/SDHC/MMC, FM radio, TV-out, USB 2.0 connectivity, and support for MP3, WMA, Ogg, FLAC, and WAV in audio formats with H.264, MP4, and WMV9 video. BBE+ sound enhancement, which can already be found on the Cowon S9, makes an appearance along with a DMB TV tuner, which makes this new mp3 player only a marginal upgrade over the D2.
There are no details on pricing or availability, but considering the sucess of the D2, it would be wise for Cowon to stick to a worldwide release than just limited to Korea.

For those still in love with their old handsets that ain’t got the much-touted GPS feature, you better watch Point-I’s labors closely. The Korean company is supposedly working on something called “TocToc” GPS, an add-on that would provide the same kind of functionality offered by onboard GPS receivers with map support to boot, as evidenced by the picture above. There is no information if this requires a smartphone to work on or will work on any kind of operating system.

Whether this will be a Korea-only affair or if the whole world stands to benefit is still unknown at this time, but we will as always keep you posted if something comes up.
